-Orange: 1-2 big or medium size
-Granulated sugar: 200 gr
-Honey: 20 ml
-Water: 300 ml
-Baking soda: 15 gr
-Salt: 15 gr – kosher salt or table salt

Instruction
1. Preparation
- Soak oranges in hot water for 3-5 minutes to remove wax coating
- Rub orange with salt and baking soda to remove excess chemical residues and wash again with fresh water. Then drain.
2. Candied orange slices
- Slice the oranges with thickness around 0.5-0.6 cm and remove seeds (if any)
- Add sugar and water into saucepan and bring to boil to dissolve the sugar
- Turn the stove to medium heat and add honey into the saucepan. Stir well.
- Gently dip orange slices into the syrup and simmer in 30-45 minutes
- When oranges slices turn to be transparent and chewy, turn off the stove
- Transfer candied orange slces to rack to remove excess syrup, then place on tray and dry in 8-12 hours
- Store the candied orange slices in closed jar or glass box and serve within 3-4 weeks
You also can serve the slices by dipping it into melted chocolate and sprinkle with some crushed nuts to enhance theirs flavor.
⚠️ ATTENTION
- The slices shouldn’t be too thick (which make it absorbs sugar longer) or too thin (which is easily teared or broken when simmering)
